Biography

Rex Jones is an Assistant Professor of Broadcast & Digital Journalism in the Department of Communication at Mississippi State University. You can see some of his work here.

Rex was formerly a Producer / Director with the Southern Documentary Project and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Southern Studies in the MFA in Documentary Expression program at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. His films have been broadcast nationally on PBS, won awards from various organizations, and been chosen as official selections of film festivals worldwide. Rex is a native of Hickory, Mississippi and holds an MFA in Science & Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University and MBA and BS in Computer Engineering degrees from Mississippi State University.
