Biography

Michael W. Seymour is a Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design at Mississippi State University. From 2021 to 2025, he served as Director of the university’s Center for Teaching and Learning, where he led efforts to enhance instructional quality and faculty development. During his tenure, the Center introduced several key initiatives, including the Maroon Academy for Teaching Excellence, a 20-week, four-course certificate program in university instruction designed to support evidence-based teaching and foster a collaborative faculty community. A licensed landscape architect, Prof. Seymour teaches courses in design and history and continues to contribute to academic scholarship and student learning.
