Research

I use participatory design and mixed methods in my research. I work with pre-service and in-service teachers. I study curricular, instructional, and assessment practices designed to rehumanize teaching and learning and help each and every learner know, use, and enjoy mathematics. Most of my work focuses on pedagogies of practice. I have studied teacher noticing, the implementation high-quality instructional materials (HQIM), math action technology, facilitating productive discussions, participation patterns, and embodied approaches to teaching.
